S.M.A.L. – Single MLOK ARCALOCK Rail

The worst part is the screws, hence the 3 stars (the rail itself is 5 stars). They use a small hex driver, meaning 35 in-lbs. of torque (standard for metal accessories to metal handguards for MLOK according to Magpul) is too much; I stripped the head out of one on the first removal attempt and had to use a T10 Torx, driven in like an extractor, to get it out. I would modify the design to accommodate typical MLOK screws that use a 1/8″ hex driver. Also, I didn’t realize this doesn’t have the MLOK studs to lock into a rail (that’s all me, it’s obvious in the photos), so using it to mount a bipod means a little less mechanical lockup. I did not try mounting it so the screws straddle the web between MLOK slots, though; not sure if that would work better.
