$ 12.90
I have looked at a lot of kits like this in the last year or so in my effort to find the perfect scripture marker.It is an impressive set, especially for the price! There are things in here I haven’t seen before, like the templates and paperclips.I like the variety of markers: felt highlighters, gel (? – the waxy kind, sort of like crayons) highlighters, and gel pens (actual gel pens, not like the waxy highlighters). A black ballpoint pen is also included for the spiral notebook/journal.There are also the 10 paperclips, 75 tables with the books of the Bible names on them (including a few blank ones that you can write on), 200 skinny index tabs, 150 sticky notes, and 5 stencils with multiple pictures on each one. Plus the journal an Bible carrying case (which has a strap included so you can sling it over your shoulder if you like). Quite a haul for the price! Especially if the coupon is still available on the product page.There are pockets and slots to keep everything in the carrying case, Velcro straps to hold your scriptures in place, and a mesh zippered pocket where you can put a tablet, for example.I like that there is a positioning guide for the name tabs, as I would otherwise put them on unevenly and that would drive me crazy.The whole kit comes nicely packed in a giftable box.A couple things that some will want to know about…The Bible case is well-designed, but not the highest quality materials or construction. If you like the design I think it will serve you well, but depending on how it’s treated I imagine that could be for a year, or maybe many years if handled with care.The main issue I have is with the markers. My goal is to find scripture markers that 1) don’t bleed through the thin scripture pages, and 2) have a good differentiation between the colors so that even at a glance it is easy to tell them apart.The colored ballpoint pens are nice. I’ve never cared to use this kind of pen before for marking, but these are nice enough that I will.Many of the felt highlighters even bleed through printer paper, so I won’t use them on the thinner scripture paper. The contrast between colors is good, but a few of them are dark enough that if you highlight over the words instead of underlining them, you may have trouble reading what you highlighted.With the waxy gel markers I would like more contrast between the redder ones on one end and the purpler ones on the other. Also, when using these markers you will get little “crumbs” of the wax on your paper. If you leave them they will smear on the page, but if you move the pen back and forth a few times when marking it sort of smooths them out, for the most part. Sometimes I still be sure to wipe away any little crumbs that are still there. It seems to happen with all this style of marker, not just these.Overall, for the price I think most people will like this, just take note if your scriptures have the thin pages.Thank you for reading, I hope it was helpful.
