This retractable awning is massive! I originally bought this for my previous 2007 camper van to rear mount over the double swing doors but last week it went to the big junkyard in the sky so I ended up buying a new 2024 camper van to mount this over the sliding side door. As soon as I get my new custom low profile roof racks installed this weekend that I specifically made sure met the specifications to mount this securely using T-slot crossbars with threaded knobs to give it a long life and hassle free installation and removal. I was really excited when this showed up and looked at all the pieces and the stitching of the fabric is superb. This is going to look great at the campsite and it looks like we are in for wet and windy weather in the northeast this year. I have a feeling my older son in college is going to see this when he comes home for spring break and want to “borrow it” for his SUV that already has crossbars on it which means that I’m going to have to order a second one. All the mounting hardware is included for different vehicle rail types using U-bolts, round clamps, or T-bolts in 10mm, 13mm, and 20mm as well as two L brackets. 10mm T-bolts are used to attach the L bracket to the awning. After you mount this to your vehicle if you can pitch a tent you can pitch an awning. This is going to get a lot of use. This is perfect for camping or even parking lot tailgating if you use weighted blocks to anchor the lines. If you’re handy you could even attach this to the wooden rail of your elevated deck in the backyard for some summer shade when your not on the road.
